SEATTLE — Modern home furnishings retailer Blu Dot has signed the lease for a new showroom here, its first in the market.

The Minneapolis-based retailer, with both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce business, will open a 5,500-square-foot showroom this fall at 401 East Pine St., in the historic Colman Automotive Building of the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Last year, Blu Dot opened new stores in Chicago, Los Angeles and Mexico City, and earlier this year, it announced its largest footprint and second New York store coming in early June to Madison Avenue in the NoMad neighborhood. With the two new stores on tap, Blu Dot will operate 11 stores, including showrooms in Mexico City and Monterrey, Mexico, and Sydney, Australia.

The Seattle locations will feature Blu Dot’s entire assortment, including its popular Copper Real Good Chair and collaborations, such as the Blu Dot x Handsome Bike. It also will feature dedicated space and staff to assist interior design clients.

“Seattle continues to hold the reputation as a hub for design and innovation and is home to great influencers and designers,” said John Christakos, Blu Dot cofounder.

“There is a great appreciation and a high demand for good, quality design, at fair prices. We see Seattle as a natural fit for Blu Dot.”
